F A Q
Q. Can I see the complete facilities where my dog will be
staying?
Of course! I encourage a visit before leaving your dog.
If needed we can arraign a few hour long visits just to make
sure your pet will enjoy himself.
Q. Are there outdoor play areas?
I have a large safely fenced in back yard that is checked
daily for any breeches in the fence’s safety
Q. Is there a schedule of activities (group play,
nap periods, use of toys, training reinforcement, feeding,
etc.) and safety rules?
There is no set regiment in the daily routine, except for
feeding. We feed at 7 am and 6 pm. Other than that we, make
time for playing ball, chase, whatever your dog likes to do
several times a day. We also have short basic training sessions.
Naps and down times at you dog’s leisure. For the older
quieter dogs that aren't into a lot of playing, we take for
walks and lots of hug time.
Q. Are the facilities well equipped with toys, bedding
and supplies?
Home Away from Home has all sort of stuffed toys, balls, tug
toys, Frisbees and the like, plenty for you dog to find just
the right toy. Your dog can rest wherever he chooses, be it
on our many pillows and doggie bed thru out the house, or
a favorite chair, couch or bed.
Q. Are the dogs supervised at all times?
ABSOLUTELY !
Q. Is there an in-depth interview to determine relevant
background, behavioral and health information including confirmation
of spay/neuter, proof of vaccinations, flea and tick prevention,
etc.? Moreover, is the information kept up to date?
On your first day we will obtain information on all aspects
of your dog. Documentation of vaccinations and spay and neuter
certificates are required. We spot check every dog that comes
to day care, daily, for any signs of fleas. Flea preventatives
are strongly recommended.
Q. My dog is on a special diet. Can I bring in my
own food?
We always encourage you to bring your dogs own food as to
not upset his system. But if you would like for me to feed
him my food that will be fine. There will be a $1.00
per day charge if I feed my food.
Q. My pet is diabetic and requires shots?
Pets with significant medical needs are better off under a
veterinarian's care than at Home Away from Home. Even though
I am qualified to handle most situations. I would be more
than happy to recommend an excellent vet that does board.
If you have any other questions you would like to ask, please
feel free to call, e-mail, or just stop by. I will be more
than happy to answer your questions.
